10th Annual CCS Basketball Tournament a Success

January 30, 2019

Columbia Community Service (CCS) is one of the oldest organizations on campus. Its yearly campaign is a means for faculty and staff of Columbia University, Barnard and Teachers College to support soup kitchens, after-school programs, and other critical services, through direct financial contributions.

On January 15 and 17, teams, formed by departments at the University, went head to head for a good cause at the 2019 Columbia Community Service (CCS) Basketball Tournament. The event's ticket sales helped raise money towards the CCS goal of $350,000. While Athletics won the championship game, Campus Services raised the most money in donations. With the University covering all CCS administrative expenses, 100% of contributions go directly to the provision of services; grants awarded by CCS are for direct services only, and not for salaries.
